Lecturer at Queen’s University
Michael is a real estate specialist. In 2022 he retired from the role of President at Alwington Communities, a condominium management firm that he co-owned. Michael founded the firm and grew it through organic sales and an aggressive acquisition program. Through 6 acquisitions he grew the firm to 2000+ units and over $1B in assets under management.
Michael is active as a consultant in the real estate industry. His work is focused on real estate development, asset management, and mergers and acquisitions of real estate companies.
Michael teaches real estate management and development at Queen’s University at Smith School of Business and the School of Urban and Regional Planning. He has previously taught at Cornell, George Brown College, Mohawk College, and the University of Manitoba.
In 2025 Michael joined GPM Property Management Inc., a large and innovative condominium management company in the Greater Toronto Area. In his role he is able to pull from his range of experience to lead various internal projects and initiatives to prepare the company for its continued growth plans.
